The Premio San Giovanni Paolo II was established to 'promote knowledge of the thought and work of John Paul II and his influence on the life of the Church and society,' to distinguish persons, organizations and initiatives that draw inspiration from the teaching of St. John Paul II in their scientific, cultural and social activities. The Prize honors those who through their work develop his legacy and translate the values he proclaimed into concrete actions in the Church and in the world.
